I’m a Waka Waka, Kabi Kabi woman with links to Koa Nation. I’m married and have 6 children and 2 Grand children, with another on the way.
I live and have made Logan my home and have been a part of this community for the past 30yrs. I have worked in Education in varies jobs for the past 20yrs both private and public. (Murri School & Woodridge High).
Since November 2010- June 2015 I have been rolling out a program called PaCE ( Parent & Community Engagement) through varies organisations (Boystown, Liworiji and Mununjali) throughout schools in Logan. Through the PaCE program Workshops, Camps, Yarning Circles, working with Parents, Schools, Organisations, Community for the needs of our families were delivered.
In July 2015 the Program was refunded for another two years. The name of the project is Kapun Tagai ( Yugambeh : Shooting, Torres Strait: Star) Mob Kinnectors. The funding changed from just working with the Parents to also working with the children. The program still includes: Workshops, Camps, Yarning Circles, working with Parents, Schools, Organisations, Community with addition of Holiday Program
In this funding there were 5 schools selected: Mable Park State High, Woodridge State High, Kingston State School, Mable Park State School & Marsden State School.
